Four jobs, with the invoice published

Not photographs of a finished bathroom — a plumber's work is behind a wall ten minutes later. What we publish instead is what each job actually cost, itemised, against the price quoted before it started.

The four

Each one opens with the call and closes with the invoice

What was said on the phone, what we found once we were there, what was actually done, and then the numbers.

  • 01WillettonFebruary 2026

Roots through a clay sewer, cut out and relined

Forty years of jacaranda root through a clay line. Jetted clear the same afternoon, cameraed, and the broken section relined without digging up the lawn.

    Invoiced$2,190against $2,190 quoted
  • 02Canning ValeJanuary 2026

Hot water gone on a Sunday, replaced by mid-afternoon

A seventeen-year-old gas storage unit with a rusted-through tank, on the one weekend the house was full. Diagnosed, replaced and certified the same day.

    Invoiced$1,750against $1,890 quoted
  • 03ApplecrossDecember 2025

A slab leak found with a thermal camera, not a jackhammer

A water bill that had tripled and a warm patch on a tiled floor. Located to within a hand-span, then re-routed overhead instead of breaking the slab.

    Invoiced$1,680against $1,680 quoted
  • 04ComoNovember 2025

A leak two floors below where it started

Water in a ground floor unit that turned out to be a failed riser connection on level three. Isolated the same night, repaired within the week, reported to the council of owners.

    Invoiced$1,110against $390 after-hours attendance quoted
Why publish this

Because “from $99” is not a price

Three reasons, and none of them is marketing.

  • It is the thing everybody is nervous about

Nobody lies awake wondering whether the plumber will be polite. They lie awake wondering what the bill will be. Publishing four of them settles that in about a minute.

  • It cannot be faked convincingly

An itemised invoice that lands on the quoted figure four times running is either true or an enormous amount of work to invent. Anybody can write “honest pricing” on a home page.

  • It keeps us honest afterwards

Once the numbers are on a public page, the quote given in your kitchen has to be defensible against them. That is the actual point.

It costs nothing to describe what is happening to somebody who can tell you what it probably is. If it can wait until morning we will say so.
